Jack Stuart was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes when he was five years old. And that is when he began his mission to beat the disease.
The first year he particpated in the TELUS Walk to Cure Diabetes, he raised a modest $250. The following year, a respectable $350. The third year Jack walked, he officially formed Team Jack of Hearts, and with the tireless work of the 82 people on his team, raised $12,000. In 2009, they beat that and raised more than $15,000, which earned them the Top Family Fundraising Team Award.
